A massive 22 riders turned up for this weeks Hilly TT, including a significant number of road racers trying their hand at riding hard without a wheel to shelter behind ;) (and possibly because it is our turn to marshall the Road Race League this week). The night saw a return to some of the older traditions of the event that have not been seen for a few years, including Shaun "The Destroyer" Hammond making it look like riding in under 1 hour takes no effort at all and Alan Cooper's ride to exhaustion followed by collapse, heart attack and recovery to finsh in 52:56 and be placed third Wheeler. Other rides of note include Mohamood Sheikh taking over 5 minutes off his time from the previous week to finish in under 70 minutes and Peter Robinson & John Grayson both managing to break the hour at their second attempt. Mark Spruce knocked 4 seconds off his time from the previous week despite misunderstanding how blood doping works and actually giving blood the day before rather than having it put back in! The prize for the fastest puncture repair goes to Kate Evans who despite suffering the misfortune of two punctures completed the course in 1:15:30 leaving Dave Starkey's epic 1:33:33 adventure from 2005 safely in place as the longest recorded time for the course in recent years. It was left to Ian Thomas of Paramount to show the field how it is done recording the fastest time of 50:02, with John Cooper second at +1:48 and first Wheeler and Paul Rogers third a further 12 seconds back. Rob Burns took eighth place, moving him to within a point of taking the lead in the TT league.

Thanks to John Ruston for setting up and siging on, Pete Hartill for time keeping and Matt Nicholls for holding riders up at the start.

Next week the focus moves to Dunston for the one and only 25 of the TT series.
