After raining for most of the day it finally cleared about two hours before the start of Monday's 5K Track Time Trial, to leave a cool but still evening.

Jo Latham in her first time trial took an early lead with an impressive 8:43. Many of the next riders were also riding their first time trial, while others were trying to set new best times, including Jess Ansell who managed to knock around 20 seconds off her previous best. Another first timer, Andy O'Connor moved into the top spot with a time of 8:01 before Steve Sanders clocked a very rapid 7:15 and set himself up as the man to beat. Alan Phillips looked strong and gave it his all trying beat Steve's time but had to settle for second place with a solid 7:48. The racing wasn't over yet though as Jack Escritt at just 11 years old set a fast time of 8:41 and took the lead as fastest youth before being overhauled by Adam Lewis in an equally impressive 8:19. Jo Latham's strong early performance made her fastest lady with Lynsey Morgan and Rosa Van Doorn as joint 1st Wheelers Lady. The evening was rounded off with Mark Lewis taking 1st Vet, 11 seconds behind son Adam (Hopefully Adam wasn't walking home!).

Thanks to Craig Ansell and Pete Hartill for time keeping and Gordon Jones, Ron Ansell and Jordan Bason for holding up. Without them standing around in the cold for two hours the event wouldn't have happened!
