Friday saw the penultimate 5K Track TT. Once again, there were a lot of first time riders trying their hand at the event, including some very rapid youth riders. The big clash of the evening was between John Cooper and Paul Horton, with John setting a blistering early pace and moving into the lead. It proved impossible for John to maintain this and Paul was able to claw back the time to win the event in 6:52 just 4 seconds ahead of John. His victory allowed Paul to reclaim second place in the TT league after losing this earlier in the week to Andy Walters.
