The last TT for this year was Fridays 5K Track TT. Once again we had a number of riders trying their hand at racing for the first time as well as many of our younger members providing some strong performances. With riders such as Matt Nicholls, Paul Horton and John Cooper missing from the start sheet, there wasn't a clear favourite for the win. Early starter Ian Morris held the fastest time of 8:39 for the first half an hour or so, before being over hauled by a strong looking Olly Kyte who set a new standard of 7:07. Olly was superceded by Paul Wright who managed to finish below the 7 minute mark in 6:58 but it was a flying Jamie Neadle that took the win in 6:51 with Paul in second as well as being the fastest Wheeler. Lauren Creamer took the honours as first Lady in 8:19 and the award for the biggest improvement goes to Taj Gill who knocked a massive 1:08 off his time from two weeks ago to break through the 10 minute barrier.
Well done to all those that took part and thanks to Robin Kyte, Jane Kyte, Pete Hartill, Carl Hardwick, Pete Escritt and Alan Cooper for time keeping, holding up and signing in, without them the event wouldn't have happened at all!
See you all next year,
Jon
